About Us

The WaveShark company is a dedicated group of inventors, engineers, software developers, artists, licensed U.S. Amateur Radio operators, U.S. military veterans, and Americans wanting to bring more manufacturing back to the U.S.  We are mostly located in Gainesville, Florida.  We are committed to making off-grid, emergency, and non-Internet communications available to everyone.

Our first product, the WaveShark Communicator, took its inspiration from Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mesh networking communications projects based on the popular LoRa long-range, low-power wireless communications technology.  Our aim is to provide regular consumers, not just hobbyists, with a polished communications device that can be used for off-grid, emergency, and non-Internet communications.

We are also committed to supporting U.S. manufacturing, both in the parts and the labor that we use.  While not all of the components that we use can be reasonably sourced from the U.S., an extensive amount of the components that go into our products are indeed made in the U.S.  Also, all of our design, engineering, software development, product final assembly, and individual product testing is done in the U.S. by skilled U.S. workers.  Purchasing one of our products helps directly support U.S. manufacturing in states including Florida, Georgia, Michigan, New York, and California.
